Abstract One of the implications of satisficing theory is that respondents will be more prone to give lower quality answers near the end of longer questionnaires. The results of existing studies are, nevertheless, not always consistent. In this paper I will review the findings of a study in which I manipulated order of questions in a lengthy web questionnaire. I will present the data regarding the effects of question position on item nonresponse, length of open answers, nondifferentiation, and response times.
